I'm a Happy Man Today
Welcome to Vocabularily
Adventurous, a blog whose only purpose is to inspire its author to get
better. Care to contribute to the cause? Read on.
Within you'll find little
snippets of things I've written over time. Because I hope to someday be
some kind of writer, I'm going to attempt to write something of
substance regularly (essays, short stories, descriptive paragraphs, or
anything other than my usual: angsty journal entries) and post it for your
and my viewing pleasure. Constructive feedback is encouraged. Mean
criticism just hurts my frail self-esteem, so please refrain.
If you're wondering why this blog is titled "I Dunno About Tomorrow," it's fairly simple.
The Prodigals
are an Irish rock group, and the song in the video below is my favorite of theirs, "Happy Man." If you
couldn't interpret the amazing accents, it's basically a song about how
some people are lucky and others aren't, some people are rich and
others are poor, but regardless of where you are in life or what might
happen in the future, be happy today. It's kind of a life philosophy of
mine that I wish I took seriously.
You'll find my stories, essays, and whatnot in "A Chip of Glass." The
page title comes from another part of the song: "There's others on the
slag heap, and if they search and pray / There's a chip of glass might
glisten like a diamond in the day." Hopefully one of them will catch
your eye.
Four-line
poems are under "All the Answers" -- "I don't have all the answers, I
don't have all the questions / And the worries of the world won't be
solved by my suggestions."
My comic strip, "Poor David," is under "Care and Worries" ("With all their care and worries, bolted doors and locked-up locks / we'll all end up in safety pushing daisies in a box"), and don't forget to sign the guest book.
Have a happy day, and thanks for reading.
